Integration benefits

Steps

  • From your Gorgias account, head to Settings → App Store → All Apps
  • Find Dondy on the list.
  • After selecting the app, click on the Connect App button
  • Log in to Shopify and install the app
  • Authorize the app
  • Upon installation, there will be two HTTP integrations created:
  • After successfully installing the app, this window will appear, where you can also disconnect the app:

Whenever a customer sends a WhatsApp message, it will appear in the Dondy chat application. At the same time:

  • A new customer is created in Gorgias (if the customer does not already exist).
  • A new ticket is created in Gorgias.
  • The customer message is added to that ticket.

Similarly, when the merchant sends a reply from Dondy, it is automatically synced as a new message in the Gorgias ticket and sent to WhatsApp as well. Conversely, when a new message is created in Gorgias, it is synced back into the Dondy chat application, and it will send WhatsApp messages to the customer. Replies from Gorgias are sent via email:

The messages flow all three ways → Messages sent from Gorgias are sent to the WhatsApp number and the Dondy app, and replies from Dondy are sent back to the Gorgias ticket as well as the WhatsApp number. And finally, messages sent from WhatsApp are visible in both Gorgias and Dondy.

As with WhatsApp in general, there is a 24-hour window to respond to the message before the reply option expires:

When a ticket is deleted in Gorgias, the linked conversation in Dondy is automatically marked as Closed. This keeps both systems in sync and prevents merchants from replying in Dondy to a conversation that no longer exists in Gorgias:

Undeleting the ticket, though, does not reopen it in Dondy. Sending a new message will reopen the ticket in Dondy and create a new one in Gorgias.
