Integration benefits

Steps

• From your Gorgias account head to Settings → App Store → All Apps
• Find Electric on the list
• After selecting the app, click on the Connect App button
• Log into the Electric app, go to Applications, and add your Gorgias account
• Authorize the app
• There will be no HTTP integration created!
• Once complete, make sure that the automation options for account creation and deletion are enabled:

Create a new employee: This will be the user that will be created and deleted in your Gorgias account. To do this, navigate to People → Active employees → Add employee and ensure “New hire” is selected:

On the following screen, put the “Start Date” as the current day, enter a title, and provide a valid email address that you have access to then press “Next”.

When asked if the employee needs onboarding, select “Applications” for the onboarding screen and press “Next”. Hardware is not required:

When asked which groups the employee should be assigned to, select the one with your Gorgias account, and press “Finish”. If there is no group, create one. In order for the integration to create users, you need to create a group, add the Gorgias account to the group, and then the employee must be included in that group during the onboarding, or later on.

This will redirect you to the new employee’s profile saying that the onboarding was complete.

Navigate to Gorgias and check that there is a new Gorgias user for the work email address added for the new employee:

To remove the user from Gorgias, return to the employee profile and press "Edit employee" -> "Offboard employee" -> "Begin offboarding", accept that this action cannot be undone and press “Revoke access”:

Note that in order for the user to be successfully removed from Gorgias, you need to start the offboarding while the user is still active in the Electric app. Otherwise, if they are first deactivated, the employee will be removed from the group containing the Gorgias app, resulting in an unsuccessful removal from Gorgias. The user needs to be a part of the Gorgias-related group in Electric.

Navigate to Gorgias again and verify that the user that was previously visible on the Users page is no longer listed.

Limitations

While you can disable the user in the app and therefore remove them as users in Gorgias, it's currently not possible to entirely delete the employees within the app. They will remain deactivated under the Inactive Employees tab.
