Gorgias Chat Privacy Disclosure & ConsentUpdated an hour ago

Clear and visible privacy disclosures are a staple in having a trustworthy brand which is why you should consider laying out your privacy disclosures to your shoppers the moment they open the Chat.

You can fully customize the text of the disclosure to reflect your unique privacy practices and/or to request the shopper’s consent for the handling of data through the Chat. The text can be formatted to your liking and can include hyperlinks to share more details through your full Privacy Notice and/or Terms of Service policy.

If your Chat is set up as a multi-language feature, you can set a unique disclosure for each version to provide the disclosure in the shopper’s native language or- to address requirements under local data privacy laws.

Important: Certain privacy laws that could apply to you may require that the Chat provide specific disclosures or obtain specific consent from shoppers. Gorgias is not responsible for configuring the Chat to comply with privacy laws that may apply to you and your chatbot. It is your responsibility to enable Chat privacy disclosures, provide accurate information, and obtain consent from shoppers, as needed. This article, and any sample disclosure and consent language we may provide, is intended for general informational and educational purposes only. You are responsible for obtaining legal or business advice from your own legal counsel or other professional adviser and should not rely on this article or any sample language in its place.
