Opt in to Gorgias beta features with LabsUpdated 33 minutes ago

Who can use this feature?

Only admins can use this feature

All Helpdesk plans (some betas also require an AI Agent subscription)

Labs gives you early access to Gorgias features that are still in active development. Browse the betas available to your account, turn on the ones you want to try, and turn them off again whenever you like. You don't have to sign up anywhere or wait for Gorgias to turn them on.

Open Labs

All betas live on one page in your account settings, so that's where you'll manage them.

  1. From your helpdesk, click Settings in the main navigation.
  2. In the Account section of the settings menu, click Labs. It's listed directly below Billing and usage.

The Labs page has two areas. Core product improvements is a single toggle for behind-the-scenes improvements. Feature betas is a table of new features you can turn on one at a time.

Turn on a beta feature

Beta features are new features you can see and use in your helpdesk. Each one has its own toggle, so you can try as many or as few as you like.

  1. From the Labs page, scroll to the Feature betas table.
  2. In the Feature column, find the beta you want to try.
  3. In the Status column for that beta, click the toggle so it reads Active.
  4. Reload the page to see the feature on your account.

Once you set the toggle to Active, the beta feature is turned on for your whole account, not just for you, so let your team know before you turn one on. You'll see the change reflected in your account once you reload the page.

The purple tag at the top of the table shows how many feature betas are active on your account.

Note: If a change doesn't save, you'll see the message Couldn't update followed by the beta's name. The toggle goes back to its previous setting, and you can try again.

Understand what each beta does

Each row in the Beta features table tells you what the beta is and who it's offered to. The Feature column shows the beta's name and a short description. Hover over a beta to see a one-line summary of what it does.

The colored badge next to each beta's name shows which accounts it's offered to:

  • Open Beta betas are offered to every account.
  • AI Agent Beta betas are offered to accounts with an active AI Agent subscription.
  • Helpdesk Beta betas are offered to accounts with an active Helpdesk subscription.

The Category column groups betas by area: AI, Automation, Productivity, Analytics, Channels, or Other.

Find a specific beta

Use the search bar above the table to look up a beta by name, description, category, or badge. You can also filter the table by Category or by Status to see only the active or inactive betas. Click any column header to sort the table by that column.

Join core product improvements

Core product improvements are betas that don't change what you see in the product, such as performance improvements, migration previews, and reliability experiments. Join them to get backend improvements before they reach every account.

  1. From the Labs page, locate the Core product improvements card at the top of the page.
  2. On the card, click the toggle so it reads Active.
  3. Reload the page.

Core product improvements work as a group. When you turn the toggle on, your account joins every behind-the-scenes beta available to it. When you turn it off, your account leaves all of them. You can't pick individual core improvements.

Note: The Core product improvements card only appears when at least one behind-the-scenes beta is available. If you don't see it, there are none to join right now.

Turn off a beta

You can leave any beta at any time. For example, turn one off if it doesn't suit your workflow or you want to go back to the current experience.

  1. From the Labs page, find the beta in the Feature betas table, or locate the Core product improvements card.
  2. Click the toggle so it reads Inactive.
  3. Reload the page.

FAQ

Why can't I see Labs in my settings?

Only admins can open Labs. If you're an agent or a lead, ask an admin on your account to open Labs for you or to change your role.

Why don't I see a beta that someone else mentioned?

Some betas are only offered to accounts with a specific subscription. Betas with an AI Agent Beta badge need an active AI Agent subscription, and betas with a Helpdesk Beta badge need an active Helpdesk subscription. If your account doesn't have that subscription, the beta doesn't appear in your list.

Gorgias also adds and removes betas over time, so a beta you heard about may have ended or become available to everyone.

What does "No beta features available" mean?

There are no feature betas open to your account right now. Check the Labs page again later, because Gorgias adds new betas over time.

What should I do if Labs says "We couldn't load beta programs"?

Refresh the page. If the message keeps appearing, contact Gorgias support.
