AI Agent appears in your Gorgias helpdesk as a user with its own profile. Its name is how it identifies itself in conversations with customers. The default name is "AI Agent Bot," but you can change it to match your brand — for example, a persona name or your company name.

The name is an account-level setting and applies across all channels and connected stores.

Change AI Agent's name

  1. From the main menu, go to Settings
  2. Click Users
  3. Select AI Agent Bot from the list of users
  4. In the Name field, enter the new name
  5. Click Save Changes

The updated name applies to all future AI Agent responses. Conversations already in progress aren't affected.


Disclose that messages are AI-generated

If you give AI Agent a custom name — especially a persona name — consider how you'll let customers know they're interacting with AI. Gorgias provides a disclosure option for each channel:

  • Email — add a signature in AI Agent > Email. When enabled, this text appears at the end of every email AI Agent sends. You can use it to disclose that the message was created by AI, or to display AI Agent's name.
  • SMS — in AI Agent > SMS, configure a footer that AI Agent appends to the first message in each SMS conversation.
  • Chat — the chat widget displays a link to your privacy policy. When AI Agent is enabled on chat, Gorgias automatically adds "This chat is AI-powered for faster assistance." to the front of your privacy policy.
