You can update and change your billing address in Gorgias on the Billing & usage page.

Adding your VAT or GST number

Some countries require businesses to register for Value Added Tax (VAT) ID, also known as Goods and Services Tax (GST) in certain locations. The VAT or GST number is a unique identifier that different countries’ tax authorities issue for the collection of tax.

Requirements to obtain a tax ID vary by country. However, Gorgias is legally required to collect tax IDs and charge taxes on your subscription in the following jurisdictions:

  • Canada (HST or GST/PST/QST)
  • European Union member states (VAT ID)
  • Australia (ABN)

You can enter your tax ID by updating your billing address in Gorgias. By entering your tax information, you are agreeing to take on the tax requirements for your purchase.

Taxes charged for your subscription appear as a separate line on your invoices.

  1. Go to Settings > Billing & usage > Payment information
  2. Under Billing address, select Update address
  3. Select a country from the dropdown menu
  4. Enter your tax ID
