Set up a return flow with Order ManagementUpdated 25 days ago

The Return Order option allows customers to submit a request to return an order or specific items from an order. The order information is pulled directly from Shopify.

If you have integration with Loop Returns, you can also set up your Return Order flow to send shoppers directly to your Loop Returns portal

A side-by-side preview of your Chat widget when a Return Order flow is set up with Order Management. On the left, the Chat shows an automated response when a shopper submits a request to return an order. On the right, the Chat shows how the shopper connects with your Loop Returns portal, if you have an integration.

Set up a return order flow

  1. Go to Settings > Order Management

    • If you have more than one ecommerce store connected to Gorgias, use the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner to switch between stores
  2. Select Return Order
  3. Use the dropdown menu to select an Eligibility window for returning orders

    • The eligibility window is a condition that an order must meet in order for the customer to initiate a return through Order Management
    • Select either Order Created or Order Delivered, then choose a number of days since the event that you'll accept a return
  4. Select a Return method

    • Automated response: write a custom reply message to automatically respond to return requests. If a return is valid, your team can then approve and process their return
    • Loop Returns: if your team uses Loop Returns to manage returns, you can choose this option to send shoppers directly to your Loop Returns portal
  5. Select Save ChangesThe “Return order” settings page within Order Management in Gorgias. The eligibility criteria specify that returns can be requested if the order was created less than one day ago. The return method is set to “Automated response,” and a prewritten response message notifies customers that their request has been received and will be addressed within 24 hours. “Save Changes” and “Cancel” buttons are at the bottom.

When you set a return order flow with Order Management, you can send shoppers directly to your Loop Returns portal if their order meets your return eligibility requirements.

  1. Create a Return Order flow or edit an existing one
  2. Under Return Method, select Loop Returns if you have an existing integration set up

    • Alternatively, select + Create new Loop Returns integration to connect to a new Loop Returns account. You'll need your Loop Returns API key.
  3. Select Save ChangesA pop-up window titled “Create new return integration” appears over the Gorgias “Return order” settings page. The pop-up prompts users to enter an API key from their return portal, with a note that this feature is available only for Loop Returns customers. There are “Cancel” and “Create” buttons at the bottom, with “Create” grayed out. The background shows settings for return order eligibility and response automation.
