Connect a store to Gorgias: ShopifyUpdated 2 hours ago
Who can use this feature?
Connecting your Shopify store to Gorgias gives your support team instant access to customer order history, shipping details, and purchase data directly alongside each ticket — no tab-switching required. With your store connected, you can view customer profiles enriched with Shopify data, and perform order actions like refunds and cancellations without leaving Gorgias. You can also use Shopify variables in macros and automated rules to personalize responses at scale.
Connect a Shopify store
When you connect a Shopify store to Gorgias, you'll be redirected to Shopify to approve the permissions Gorgias needs, then brought back to your helpdesk once the connection is complete. If you manage multiple Shopify stores, repeat these steps for each store you'd like to connect. Gorgias checks whether a store is already connected before creating a new integration, so you won't accidentally create duplicates.
- From your helpdesk, click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
- In the menu, locate Workspace, then select Store.
- Click Add new store in the top-right corner, then select Shopify.
- Click Connect Shopify. You'll be taken to the Shopify App Store where the Gorgias app is listed.
- From the Shopify App Store, follow the prompts to install the Gorgias app on your Shopify store. Shopify will ask you to authorize the permissions Gorgias needs to access your store data.
- After approving the permissions, Shopify will redirect you back to Gorgias.
Once connected, Gorgias begins importing your Shopify customer profiles and order history in the background. Depending on your store size, this import may take some time to complete.
Connect channels
Assign specific channel integrations to each store so that your customer tickets can be traced to the store they came from. Once you assign a channel to a store, you can filter your support tickets to create views, or create rule conditions based on store, rather than just by channel.
- From your helpdesk, click the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner.
- In the menu, locate Workspace, then select Store.
- Search for and select the store you'd like to manage.
- Click the Channels tab.
- Select a channel from the list.
- Use the side panel to set up the channel, then click Save Changes.
What to expect
Connecting any supported ecommerce platform to Gorgias gives you access to customer profiles and order history in the sidebar, but connecting a Shopify store offers an expanded set of capabilities that make your Gorgias support experience even more seamless. With your Shopify store connected to Gorgias, you'll have access to:
- Enhanced customer profiles
Customers who have a matching profile in your Shopify store will have data from Shopify present in their profiles in Gorgias. This includes their order history, lifetime spend, and tags. - Customer note syncing
Customer notes are kept in sync between Gorgias and Shopify, meaning you can update a note in either Shopify or Gorgias, and the notes will match in both places. Notes won't be synced for customers who have profiles in more than one Shopify store. - Profile merging
Gorgias can use the phone number from a customer's default Shopify shipping address to match incoming contacts to profiles in your Shopify store. This can improve match accuracy for customers who contact you from a different email address than the one on their Shopify account. - Discount code generation
You can create and send one-time-only discount codes to your shoppers directly from the ticket in Gorgias. - Shopify metafields
You can further enrich the data your agents have available in Gorgias when you import Shopify metafields. - Order data
Without leaving Gorgias, you'll have access to an order's fulfillment status and order notes, and you'll be able to manage Shopify orders from the ticket sidebar. - Macro actions for Shopify orders
When creating a macro, you can add a macro action to trigger a ticket event when the macro is applied. When Shopify is connected, you can duplicate, cancel, refund, and edit orders by adding the relevant action to your macros. - AI Agent
Trained specifically on your brand's policies, website, and Shopify data, AI Agent autonomously resolves customer questions — from helping customers with an existing order, to handling pre-purchase conversations, including recommendations, upsells, and discounts. - Revenue reporting
Analyze how your support team contributes to revenue, with data pulled from Shopify orders.
